Deepa Gurnani

New York–Born in India, Deepa Gurnani studied fashion at the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, where she also made beaded couture pieces for Alexander McQueen, Ben Maher, Emanuel Ungaro, Fendi, Margan Pejoski and other major names. After coming to New York, she then teamed up with fine jewelry designer Jay Lakhani who had trained under head designers for Tiffany and Bvlgari. Together in 2006 they formed Deepa Gurnani, showcasing accessories consisting of necklaces, scarves, belts and beaded clutches which referenced Indian design whilst remaining contemporary.
